Property, setting and location:
Situated in the beautiful Ruthern Valley, an area of outstanding natural beauty, Tregawne is a fine example of an early 18th century Cornish farmhouse. It has been lovingly restored and furnished with antiques, creating a marvellous atmosphere in which to relax and unwind. It stands in its own grounds with the river Ruthern running at the bottom of its 7 acre meadow.
The house provides bed and breakfast accommodation or can be rented as a whole, accommodating ten people. There are also three cottages, which have been beautifully converted from the historic mill and barn complex to provide self-catering accommodation with all facilities.
Both the house and cottages are ideally located for guests to explore both the North and South Cornwall coasts, with wonderful walking and bicycling on the famous Camel trail, which is five minutes away. There are also riding stables close by. Sea fishing, windsurfing, water skiing and sailing are on-hand at nearby exclusive Rock on the Camel Estuary. For those who enjoy the thrills of surfing Polzeath is less than half an hour away.
There are many National Trust houses and gardens to visit in the vicinity.
Numerous high quality golf courses are within a 10 mile radius, including Lanhydrock, Roserrow, St Enodoc and Trevose. The Championship course at St Mellion is 25 miles away. Golf parties for up to 12 people can be arranged on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis. David, your host and a golf enthusiast will be delighted to offer good advice and to accompany you to St Enodoc, where he is a member.
