Property, setting and location:
Melrose House is a family run guest house in a traditionally built Victorian town house. It is situated in a quiet, tree lined residential street in a pretty suburb only 15 minutes from the centre of London, close enough to be in the centre very quickly, but far enough to escape from the noise and activity. The other big advantage is that it is economical because you are not paying central London prices!
The house lies within a triangle of three major towns : Bromley in Kent, Croydon in Surrey and Greenwich in south London: Bromley and Croydon are both big shopping centres, and Greenwich is famous for its maritime history and museum, the meridian observatory, ancient shops, antique markets and village atmosphere. The famous Crystal Palace Park and sports centre is only a 10 minute walk from the house.
The Eurostar terminal can be easily reached by train from a local station. Heathrow and Gatwick airports are easily accessible by train. Travel all over London is economical: just buy a daily or weekend travel card for £4 a day to cover zone 4, this can be used for all London transport - buses, trains and underground.
